Be part of the team that keeps Scotland safe!

Everyone at Scottish Fire & Rescue Service plays a key role in protecting Scottish communities and saving lives - and you could contribute to our vital work.

As the fourth largest fire and rescue service in the world, our remit is wide-reaching and extends far beyond preventing and controlling fires. Our day-to-day duties often include responding to road traffic collisions, dealing with hazardous materials, providing rope and water rescue services and attending to floods. Working alongside our partner agencies, we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.

But you don't have to be out on the streets in a uniform to make a difference. As well as front-line Service Delivery roles, our opportunities span into functions such as People and Organisational Development; Training, Safety and Assurance; Finance and Procurement; and, of course, Information and Communications Technology. Every single person at SFRS is important, and together we are making Scotland a safer country.

With responsibility to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the ICT infrastructure and systems, you will develop, implement, monitor, support and optimise the SFRS internal and external server infrastructure and their associated systems.

In this role you will deliver for the organisation on a daily basis, ensuring continual high performance of various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations and developing processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the server environment. Using your expertise to monitor, maintain, support and optimise all networked software and associated operating systems, you will apply your proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills every day.

You will hold an HND in an ICT-related discipline or have equivalent experience and will be Microsoft MCSE (server) level certification/accreditation or equivalent.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is an Equal Opportunities employer and encourages applications from all sectors of the community. In addition, we are committed to being a "Disability Confident Employer" and will ensure that all applicants who meet the essential criteria for the role are invited for interview.
